2008 was a GREAT year for me... I know a lot of people talk about how ready they are/were to get past it... but I can't complain one bit... as of right now, 2009 is looking even better (puppies and unicorns I know sorry...).
SORE! Snowboarding will do that... especially when you then go and ride the BMX track in 30degree weather until your back spasms (yes I am old). I decided not to race since I was super sketchy (just couldn't ever get warm) and watched Balentine tear it up on his mountainbike. Always nice to see everyone out there... Panzera and his getting hit by a car story, Kneip and his endless Action Bikes props...
Busy start to the new year... I don't make NY resolutions, but I have been looking at doing some new things recently so that counts right? It's time for me to learn a new skill, race A LOT, do a couple other things I've had on the to-do list... so now is as good a time as any for sure.

Just got back from grabbing a cold beverage at Purgy's where I witnessed a bunch of young and old people mosh pitting to the band... that was playing till 5pm... haha. Headed to grab some grub at the Sow's ear tonight I think. New boots and bindings were nice. My legs are still sore though since I haven't boarded in a long while. Checked and I'm good on coverage for data while roaming (with T-Mobile now and I THOUGHT I was good with roaming etc but wasn't sure until today). So I will be tracking my runs on the slopes tomorrow after all. See below. I'll post some pictures (for Benjy) soon too. Too busy enjoying ourselves :)

Made it in... just finished having some dinner (and whiskey!) and taking a walk around the village. Ker fish is taking a snowboard lesson tomorrow so as soon as we get her all set with rentals etc I'm going to hit the slopes with my new boots and bindings and get those dialed in. Conditions look to be good. Weather shouldnt be too bad and theyve had some snow already so I'll be shredding like Pat Mc dances!

16 hours... New boots and bindings... waxed board... CO here I come... I plan on activating my GPS tracker once I'm on the slopes... I've played with it enough that I should be able to record my tracks then lay it over a google earth layout... rambling I know... super pumped about this trip.

Heading to WC Pump track in a bit to meet Fletcher and see what trail boss Cullen has whipped up lately... 2 of my bikes have flats right now so I may be talking to James about going tubeless sooner than later. Gotta pack for the upcoming ski trip too and run around town like a crazy man to wrap some things up. The stay in Baytown was super quick. Got there, went to Grandma's, went to parents' house, left next day... Didn't get a chance to see a lot of people that I wanted to see sadly.
been toying with this stalker, I mean tracker... able to import the data into google earth like I used to with my old GPS unit but now it's straight off my phone (which is more accurate than my low grade garmin was it seems). Hoping to have enough battery to track my runs on the slopes and be able to see speed etc when I'm done. I honestly have no idea about how fast (or slow) I'm going when I'm snowboarding... Car is packed... bags are packed... hard to not just roll out tonight!
Fletcher and a ton of others at the WC pump track today... Digger Dan, Freeride Joe, Jack Bell, Joey, Whitesides and Gold Plated Doug Crowell, Flora, an ex statistics student of mine... good times. Glad I got a nice long session in today.

Headin back the ATX. This trip was too quick... need to do some laundry and packing though and I'm hoping to get a session at Walnut Creek or the track tomorrow... Also hoping to track my runs while snowboarding with this new gadget... here ya go stalkers!

Got into Baytown last night. Meant to go see Benjy and his bar, but the phone had died and I was exhausted. Headed to Grandma's for the day then back to the parents' for another couple days of relaxation which is much needed! I didn't end up bringing a bike or guitar or anything other than some rest related activities! I'll get this site back and in order and post some pics soon.
